The weekend started off with working Saturday morning from 6 till 3 with intentions of heading to Moncton for the Newfies last night of his week long trip back to the good life. Kelly and I departed from home around 630 in the evening, arriving in Moncton around 8. We grabbed a stay at the EconoLodge, which I would give 5 out of 5 stars. It has everything you could want; its not a dump, has a cheap rate, clean room with big tv, good staff, $1.50 beer coupons for its bar. Other highlights were over hearing the people in the next room go at it, and I think my favorite part was the long walk down along the side of the motel and up a flight of stairs to get ice. It was a classic scary movie scene, and when going up the stairs a conversation was over heard by two guys that contained the words, "What is your warrant for?", "clean the computers hard drive", and the chi was mentioned.
Kelly and I stopped off for some supper at Mikes, then at the L store. I always enjoy going to liquor stores that require staff to restock the shelves at 930pm because stock is going so quick. We also stopped off to see Kelly's friend Mary at Ayers, the best convenience store ever, they feature 3 hot dogs for 99cents, and the best sandwiches around for under $2, made fresh, usually by what appear to be midgets. It was then time for pre intoxication at the motel, skipping Serge's pre gathering, but I think that was worth while when I called to advise them of that and having the newfie quote an Elton John song, "Fuck Mark, I'm leaving on a jet plane tomorrow, don't know when I'll be back."
Around 12, after having 2 taxis stolen from us by other guests at the motel, we finally got one to the o2, where Kelly had to remove her coat for fear of weapons. I don't have a problem with requiring people to remove vests and jackets, but when its a tight coat that is practically a shirt, what the fuck do they think she is hiding? a sheet of loose leaf maybe? to give people paper cuts? It was a pretty good crowd, including some people from home, and some others from mcton who I still recognize even though its been a few years since living there. We met up with my former classmates, highlights including stories of the newfies rough experience the night before and serge's comments about it and other things. It was a classic night of laughing at the two of them non stop. Back to the motel around 2, after awhile we settled down to sleep, but I flipped through the channels and had perfect timing for the green lights of the F1 race. I fell asleep halfway through it, woke up the next morning to the rebroadcast, 4 laps ahead of where I fell asleep at. Too bad my pick6 picks for the event went in the shitter, thankfully I wasn't alone.
Sunday featured some taco bell and a short mall trip, then back home around 330.
